This is an ebook about the indictments of Donald Trump for his role in the events of January 6.
Donald Trump was charged in two courts with crimes for attempting to prevent the transfer of presidential power to his elected successor – to steal the election.
The indictments are helpful because they describe all the main facts making up the crimes for which Trump is charged. They tell the frightening story of how this president tried for two months, using five strategies which failed one after the other like falling dominos, leading to the invasion of the Capitol on January 6. This book tells that story in easily readable form.
READ THE FACTS. That's what this ebook is about. It allows the average person to cut through the legalese and understand what the facts are that the charges were based on. Their text is highlighted and lightly edited for easy readability. The complete original text is in the book's Appendix.
Most importantly, the charges tell what actually happened -- who did what and when. That lets the reader verify or dispute the various things said in the media about the charges.
The federal charges were amended as a result of the Supreme Court's immunity decision (go to bit.ly/4j0KJv to for the changes in the federal indictment), but the main ones are still valid. The federal indictment is being dropped by the Department of Justice during his second term because of their belief that a sitting president can't be tried for crimes until he is impeached. But the charges can be refiled after he leaves office. They are such a major precedent that that is likely.
The Georgia indictment has also been narrowed, but Donald Trump still faces eight felony counts there.
Whether those facts amount to crimes is for the courts to determine. All we know for sure is that the prosecutors claim they did, and they set out facts they say they can back up in court. And readers of them can decide for themselves.
